Cookies statement
Last updated: 11 August 2026
1. Our site is cookieless by design
We have deliberately built adamsnel.com to avoid cookies. We do not use cookies for analytics, advertising, profiling or cross-site tracking, and we do not show a cookie consent banner because we do not set non-essential cookies on our own pages. The only cookies or similar storage involved are strictly necessary, as described below.
2. Cookieless analytics
We measure how this website is used with privacy-first, cookieless analytics. It does not track you across other websites, is not used for advertising or profiling, and we do not sell or share it.
3. Browsing, basket and your preferences (strictly necessary)
Our merch store remembers the contents of your basket as you browse using a strictly-necessary cookie or local-storage entry — the cart identifier used by the Fourthwall Storefront API that powers /merch. This is essential to the shopping function you have asked for, so it is exempt from consent.
If you change the currency shown on our merch pages, we remember that choice in a cookie named an_currency. It holds only the three-letter code of the currency you picked (for example GBP or EUR), lasts up to one year, and cannot be read by scripts in your browser. It contains no identifier and is not used to recognise or track you. We only set it when you actively choose a currency — if you never touch the currency control, no cookie is set. As a preference you have asked us to remember, it is strictly necessary for that function and exempt from consent.
4. Checkout and security — third-party (strictly necessary)
- Google reCAPTCHA protects our forms (such as the contact form) from spam and fraudulent submissions, and may set cookies or read browser information to do so. We use it as a security measure.
- Checkout is operated by Fourthwall(our Merchant of Record) on its own systems and sets its own cookies — including for payment, fraud prevention, session management and Fourthwall’s own analytics — which are outside our control. See Fourthwall’s privacy and cookie notice: fourthwall.com/privacy-policy.
5. The law on cookies, wherever you are
Storing or reading non-essential information on your device generally requires your consent — under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), the EU ePrivacy Directive (as implemented in EU/EEA countries), and, in South Africa, POPIA together with the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA). Because we set no non-essential cookies on our own pages, no consent banner is required for our site; the strictly-necessary items above are exempt from consent.
6. Managing cookies
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies and similar storage (see the help pages for Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge). Blocking strictly-necessary cookies may stop parts of the site (such as the basket or checkout) from working.
